Secureworks Integrated AI For Better Security Operations Announced As 2024 CIO 100 Award Winner

Foundry’s CIO 100 award recognizes enterprise excellence and innovation in Information Technology

Atlanta, GA., March 20, 2024 – Secureworks® (NASDAQ: SCWX), a global leader in cybersecurity, today announced that Foundry's CIO has named it as a 2024 CIO 100 award winner for its 'Integrated AI for Better Security Operations' program. For more than 25 years, the CIO 100 Awards have recognized innovative organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of strategic and operational excellence in Information Technology.

Secureworks 'Integrated AI for Better Security Operations' investment focuses on solving one of the biggest challenges in cybersecurity – sifting through the noise to detect threats across the entire IT landscape to drive faster response times. Secureworks has developed several artificial intelligence (AI), machine-learning (ML) and automation-based enhancements that have demonstrably improved the efficiency and accuracy of its internal Security Operations Center (SOC). These enhancements have fueled more accurate, faster decision-making to improve the company's ability to defend against cyberattacks and elevate the security posture of its customers and partners.

In the last year, Secureworks leveraged AI to reduce alert noise and increased the triage productivity for SecOp analysts using Taegis by over 100%, while improving notification times by 80%.

"The CIO 100 Symposium & Awards continues a tradition of over 25 years of the highest quality content for IT leaders and their teams. In addition to celebrating 100 organizations during the dinner and awards ceremony, I am thrilled to feature many of these IT leaders as speakers," stated Elizabeth Cutler, Content Director, CIO 100 Symposium & Awards. "The award-winning teams share a passion for excellence, a customer-centric mindset, and a drive to invest in technologies that elevate business value."

Secureworks is using innovative applications of AI to better allocate human resources, while further improving its detection and response capabilities. With the industry continually innovating across the spectrum of AI, the Secureworks SecOps team reaps the benefits by harnessing these technologies to optimize security efficacy and reduce mean time to resolve security incidents.

"AI and machine learning are tightly woven into the fabric of our company," said Nash Borges, Vice President Global Engineering, Secureworks. "With threat actors shortening their time to impact organizations, these technologies have become critical to accelerating our detection and response times. We use ML to constantly adapt to the threats that our security analysts are focusing on and scale those learnings across our customers and partners, allowing the analysts to review automated recommendations and focus on what is still beyond the reach of most AI – identifying the emerging tactics, techniques, and procedures that we have not seen before. This symbiosis between analyst and machine is critical when facing an adaptive adversary and dealing with information overload."

"Our engineering, product, security research, and SecOps teams all collaborate closely on optimizing these challenging workflows. To see that partnership honored with a CIO 100 award is truly something special. Rest assured, we will continue to innovate to better secure the missions of our customers and partners," Borges concluded.

Executives from the winning companies will be recognized at the CIO 100 Symposium & Awards.
